Product Introduction


The open channel flow measurement box adopts the velocity-area method for flow metering and the ultrasonic time-difference method for velocity measurement. Different models of flow measurement boxes are matched according to the depth of the channel, and two pairs of transducers are arranged every 5cm to measure the layer velocity. For the flow area, the water depth is measured by an electronic water gauge, and then the real-time flow rate is calculated through integral conversion based on the internal measurement parameters of the flow measurement box.


Function Introduction


Flow metering: Adopts the velocity-area method principle.

Velocity measurement: Adopts the ultrasonic time-difference method principle.

Flow area: Calculated by measuring the water depth with an electronic water gauge and using the internal width parameters of the flow measurement box.

Water level measurement: Based on the three-water-level method (water gauge + probe).

Product Advantages


● Low head loss

Unlike weir/flume-type open channel flow meters, the ultrasonic flow measurement box adopts the velocity-area method principle and does not require deliberate modification of the flow regime. Therefore, its head loss is much smaller than that of weir/flume-type open channel flow meters.

● High metering accuracy

Different from Doppler ultrasonic meters that measure point velocity, the flow measurement box adopts time-difference ultrasonic technology—each pair of transducers measures the average velocity of the water flow in that layer. The ultrasonic signal is emitted from one side of the flow measurement box and received by the other side, and the time difference represents the average velocity of the water flow in that layer, which can better reflect the overall state of the water flow. The multi-layer cross-arranged transducers divide the flow cross-section into multiple layers to obtain the average velocity of each layer; this also reduces the metering uncertainty caused by turbulence in the channel, greatly improving the stability and accuracy of the average velocity data of the channel cross-section.

 Sediment thickness measurement

 The flow measurement box also has the function of detecting the sediment height of the flow cross-section. During flow calculation, it automatically deducts the cross-sectional area occupied by sediment, making the final flow data closer to the true value.

● Strong applicability

Unlike radar wave current meters that determine the channel cross-sectional velocity by measuring the surface velocity of water flow, the flow measurement box adopts multi-channel measurement technology, significantly increasing the number of ultrasonic probes (one layer arranged every 5-10cm) to measure the velocity of each layer of the cross-section separately. Therefore, it can achieve accurate metering under different slopes and complex external conditions.

● No on-site calibration required

Calibrated in accordance with flow meter specifications, with a built-in multi-flow regime algorithm model—no on-site calibration is needed. This completely solves the problem of difficulty in obtaining the true value during on-site calibration in the past.
