Technical Description


The radar operates in the 80 GHz frequency band, with a maximum ranging capability of 40 meters. The maximum detectable distance may vary depending on the Radar Cross-Section (RCS) of the target object. The radar comes with a factory default configuration that is compatible with both ASCII and MODBUS protocols, allowing users to switch between protocol modes by executing the corresponding instructions.

  • Why does maximum detection range vary at 80GHz?​

    • Radar Cross-Section (RCS) sensitivity: Targets with smaller RCS (e.g., plastic debris, low-dielectric liquids) reflect weaker signals . At 80GHz, a ​10× RCS reduction shortens range by ~44%​​ , making precise antenna alignment critical for small-object detection
